Pros

Colleagues are awesome people who want to take care of their customers and support eachother Great products Good benefits and PTO

Cons

Constant, unending stress Pay not in line with sales role, not enough for stress Company removing incentive pay I was motivated to work here by the inclusive culture, and branches are genuinely diverse and filled with great people. However, whatever you might get told, there is daily pressure to sell products that instantly affect the branch's production, rather than building long-term relationships that build brand loyalty and lead to sales opportunities. If we know life changes happen every 6 months on average, then we can potentially offer someone a new product or service every 6 months. But we're not going to sell everyone something new every time they walk in the door. There's a general lack of appreciation for how understaffing, taking away incentives, and constant pressure are affecting CEB morale. This is a huge problem, because CEBs are primarily responsible for both positive customer service surveys and referring production to Relationship Bankers, Branch Managers, and other areas of the bank. All the CEBs I've talked to have stopped wanting to move up within the branches because they see the constant pressure FRBs and Branch Managers are getting as well. No one in the branch is paid fairly for to the workload they're getting or what's expected of them. Every person I've talked to in the branches has said that they feel like no amount of effort they put in is ever good enough.

Pros

Decent salary/benefits, nothing else really

Cons

They understaff branches universally, it’s sales driven, no upward mobility, managers can sabotage promotions, favoritism, aging facilities.

Pros

Branches were diverse and taught me skills needed in commercial banking.

Cons

Middle Market bankers in Detroit are all white men except for one white female. Most hires come from upper middle class families. New ideas are not encourage as "this is how we've always done it, and it works". They don't see branch experience as relevant at all when it is. Women are not respected to the same degree as men.
