Pros

Students are nice and mostly behaved.

Cons

Paid $14/hr to tutor with 10 years of teaching experience, MS, BS, and AS degrees, and teaching credential. Their Interview was a joke and their online post on indeed advertised making up to $20/hr. The schedule is inconsistent and you do not get any hours. Teachers are not looked at as experts. Forced to teach an outdated, ineffective curriculum. These kids need homework help, not another classroom experience after school. Kids become frustrated, as do the teachers. There is no deviating from their curriculum, even if it helps student. Students are not tutored in a 1:1 setting in 4th grade and above.

Not worth the pain

Pros

Working with students and helping them learn

Cons

Cons are literally every other part of the job: the franchisee owner doesn't let you work over 36 hours so they can keep you at part time, they constantly change your job description and give you duties that have nothing to do with your job so they can take more off their own plate, all while grossly underpaying you and giving absolutely 0 benefits. The most stressful and toxic work environment i have ever been a part of.

The role requires creativity and is not monotonous sometimes.

Cons

Honestly, not worth your time if you want to be valued and are pursuing to grow in the company.
