Happy Teachers VS Unhappy Teachers

Pros

I can't help to respond to the latest post from an unhappy teacher. Her comments were about how the parents pay $80 per hour and how a parent can get the same results hiring a home tutor. Obviously this is NOT a well qualified teacher or someone who knows what she is talking about. First parents do not pay $80 an hour! The program fees are very reasonable and well worth every cent. Second --- this teacher obviously knows nothing about the HLC program or how we help children. An at home tutor is a bandaid and will not ever provide what HLC does. The program is top notch and as a former teacher and having worked at competitors there is no program that "fixes" the problem like HLC. The program is designed to go back and reteach what they missed and if any teacher looks at this program and questions it's validity they should question their educational ethics. It's about the children and we as professionals should do everything and anything we can to help them! Posting nonsense only hurts the children! They need HLC. You can go get another job. Just hope it's not in the education industry!

Cons

Hiring the wrong teachers to work with our amazing children!

Fantastic opportunity to make a difference

Pros

Working at any level of the company is a fantastic opportunity to truly change kids' lives. A job at the corporate office calls upon a person to do his homework. Passion is rampant for helping students and simultaneously helping centers build profit. To successfully contribute, one must bring ideas that he can back up in terms of their alignment with these specific objectives. Perfection along unique standards is normally expected in one's work, and so a corporate employee has no choice but to continue honing his and his teams' weak areas or face constant criticism. For those who are not too sensitive to withstand negative feedback, corporate can be a ticket to personal and professional growth. Adequate time is normally given to do the job right. Politics are minimal, as everything is out on the table, with few hidden agendas. Everyone speaks his mind except the timid who have not done their homework. No more wondering what the person next to you or at the head of the table is really thinking.

Cons

As a corporate employee, don't look to the top for sugar-coated responses to your ideas, overflowing appreciation for a job well done, trust without verification, or even tactful treatment. Everyone is simply expected to bring his best, and to spend some time proving that he's delivered it. If you want to coast, get by on your smile, and gather kudos for any effective contribution, this is not the place for you.

Pros

Great staff. Great work environment. Enjoyable working one on one with students and seeing progress. Laid back atmosphere. Training time isn't long.

Cons

Not great pay. Also, schedule changes at the last minute. During the school year, most hours run late. Very much a part time job.
