Pros

You really get the chance to help students, which is what certified teachers ultimately want to do.

Cons

With one teacher and four students (each of whom is working on different material) it is hard to keep up sometimes. The Management didn't care though, everything is about following a system, not necessarily what is best for the student. And it's one positive thing to be around as a company for over 30 years...but using the same system and material for all those years...that's a problem! The pay is so low for the work load. Really low and at my center, there was no set raise system in place to ever have hope of making more based on progress and teacher performance.

Pros

The best thing about Huntington Learning Center is that all the preparation is done for you. There are no lesson plans to create or any grading to take home. All the scheduling is done for you as well, you do not have to recruit students to tutor. The staff consists of certified teachers, and you get to do work that helps children and young adults do better at school.

Cons

The pay is probably the worse thing about Huntington Learning Center; I personally do not feel like 10 dollars an hour is a good price for a tutor, especially one that has a college degree and a teaching certificate. They charge parents a lot of money for the service and it seems that the people doing the actual work get the minimal amount. Also, the program is lacking in any critical thinking skill development, which I feel is crucial to academic success and overall success.

Pros

There is opportunity for remote work.

Cons

Lack of employee morale. Oversight seemed strung out.
