Great place to work, one foot out the door
Pros
The culture is, as many others have pointed out, amazing. The feeling of being part of a team is awesome, and definitely something that's missing a lot of places Hyland's size or larger. The work-life balance is good, and working from home is acceptable for certain departments, for certain reasons.
Cons
The mantra of "Doing a job to prove you can do it" is very, very prevalent at Hyland. Giving employees additional responsibilities before actually acknowledging those responsibilities with a promotion or a salary increase is not only common, it's the status quo. Recently, a company wide initiative was launched to standardize job titles and descriptions with nationally recognized guidelines. This was a good step forward, but has also increased the wage disparity that is all too common at Hyland. As many other reviews have stated, the pay at Hyland is well below the national average (around 30-40%, depending), and a fun culture and free (diet) soda does not make up for that kind of deficit.
