Pros

Opportunity to advance your career depending on amount of responsibility desired and project manger. On the cutting edge of VR technology and use of BIM to inform design and process. Clients many would considerable desirable.

Cons

Very poor communication between upper management and the rest of the staff. Project managers routinely overstaff their employees and hold teams to unrealistic schedules. PMs demonstrate a lack of understanding of process which results in frequent fire drills. Very biased on who has opportunities to work remotely - huge priority is given to employees with families. Upper management does not understand younger generations and has made repeated comments about entitlent that could be considered offensive. Unable to address conflict and hold employees accountable for poor performance and also unwilling to reward/promote those who exceed expectations. Gives promotions with no raise! Promotes the wrong people.

Pros

Really great design work and talented team of designers. typically strong bonus pay. Have diversified clientele, no longer beholden to 1 large client. There is no interiors vs. architecture (us/them) mentality, everyone works together and there's opportunity to learn technical skills as well as creative.

Cons

Post covid there was a real disconnect between upper management and the rest of the team and it felt like no matter how many town hall discussions they wanted to have to prove they were listening, they never truly took our feedback to heart. there has been a lot of burn out throughout the years at IA, in more recent years it seems to be on the retail side. It really depends on your direct manager.
