Wonderful people, well-intentioned company, and great place to grow -- to a point

Overall work that is for the public good Good managers and helpful people in most divisions Employees have autonomy to do their best work Plenty of learning opportunities and career growth for early and mid-career people Work-life balance is superb

Cons

Deviating into some questionable domains (i.e. less environmental and public health than before) Not much room for senior level career growth beyond a certain point Not enough tools to retain good senior level people Low compensation Reinvesting dollars in acquisitions and shareholder value over people who create that value (base salaries) Not good at integrating acquired firms into the culture of legacy ICF Too much pressure put on delivery leaders to be seller-doers and wear multiple hats to keep the business growing Concerning slant toward being essentially a reseller of cloud vendor products over real strategic consulting work within focused domains

Smart colleagues, important work, lower pay

Pros

The topics are interesting and change often in consulting. Colleagues care about the work and are highly capable. All the teams I know of are flexible with hours and location which is good for parents.

Cons

It’s consulting so everyone is on too many projects. They keep salaries low to keep bids competitive. However they spent who knows how much on a brand new headquarters! They should focus in compensating and keeping employees they value. They spend a lot of time with praises and kudos but it seems as alternative to better pay.
