Pros

Talented, supportive colleagues and flexible work arrangements

Cons

New leadership feels disconnected from the realities of our roles, our skill sets, and us as individuals. Decisions seem to be made hastily, without fully weighing the long-term value of people’s contributions. Leadership should be empathetic, thoughtful, and deliberate; however, the current approach often feels abrupt and overly sweeping, with little regard for the human impact.

Pros

Some teams have good work-life balance (although some do not). Working remotely is a huge plus, and there are flexible hours.

Cons

Relative to other consultant firms, ICF does not have generous pay or benefits. Despite touting being an ethical and equitable firm, they value profits over anything else, as expected from a corporation, but pretend otherwise. Employees and leadership believe they are above other companies because they say how diverse and caring they are, but in reality the company does not support people of color or queer people when it comes down to it. They will throw minorities under the bus if advocating for them causes any inconvenience.

Pros

Most of the company is WFH, so it is a great work life balance. It is a great entry-level job where you get thrown into a lot of responsibility quickly. Most people are smart and nice.

Cons

It becomes a cutthroat money-making competition as you rise to the top. No bonuses are given. Pay is low compared to rest of the industry. They use recent grads for cheap labor and then don’t reward them well enough or provide enough opportunity to grow within the company.
