Pros

Great office space and fun people. Good to work for a well known consulting firm with a nice reputation. Projects can be exciting depending on your client.

Cons

Stagnant. Standstill. There are some people who are promoted every year and others who wait 5 years to go up one-level. Definitely a game of favorites. You can get a great review every year but they'll tell you that you are doing as expected....so if you're a high performer be ready to hear that that's what they expect of you always. No bonus a few years in a row because the company isn't meeting their targets.

Ok company, limited growth opportunities

Pros

Great environment, friendly colleagues, good place to work for entry-level staff, flexibility with working from home.

Cons

Project involvement is based on who you know and who advocates for you. Company is very top heavy with a lot of higher level managerial positions impeding lower level staff to obtain technical skills and be promoted. Thus creating an atmosphere of competition amongst staff. If promoted it is not always based on merit. Extremely long hours with attitude that one can be easily replaced. Lack of communication among all of ICF.

Dear current employee, thanks for the review. One of the things we wanted to address was your comment about the company feeling top heavy. Our most senior team actually only consists of just a little more than a dozen people, for a company of over 5,000. This could be a product of your immediate situation and we would encourage you to partner with a member of Human Resources to address it.

Pretty Good Company

Pros

ICF is not a bad company - it really depends on who you work for and what line of business you're in. In general, they seem responsive to staff needs and they care about giving back - often matching donations made by employees. Benefits are good too - not the best, but respectable.

Cons

It seems hard to get a raise, even if it's clear that they have a lot of money stored away. A 2% increase a year hardly account for the cost of living adjustment! I think good people end up looking elsewhere because of the modest raises and almost non-existent bonus structure.
