      Wondering why IDBS are recruiting...?

      Pros

      Good flexible hours. Most people are very nice and friendly, if a little stressed.

      Cons

      IDBS are recruiting because people are very unhappy and are leaving. nstead of addressing the real issues that are causing this they are sweeping all the problems under the rug, and reshuffling people. Don't believe the hype that comes out of the HR marketing machine. They ASK people to write positive reviews on Glassdoor to counteract all the bad ones. Just a little scratch at the surface shows all the reviews they're trying to hide. Avoid this company even if it's just for this display of dishonesty.

      Thanks for your review and apologies for my late response. The second half of 2015 and the first half of 2016 saw loads of change within IDBS in terms of our structure and how we work and I hope you will agree that these changes have been for the better - both for the business and for the great people who work at IDBS. If you have some recommendations for more improvements then please share these with your line manager or a member of the HR team. We do listen and value your opinions as I believe we genuinely all want the same thing - a great and successful business to work in where we are able to do our best work and learn every day.

      Used to be good but upper management have driven it into the ground

      Pros

      Nice people to work with on the ground with a family feeling, good size company

      Cons

      The products are bulky and behind the times in the industry, they are fighting a hard battle to catch up. Management neglect skilled valuable employees, there is a distinct lack of recognition from the management structure. Lots of leavers in recent years and mostly skilled workers. The current recruitment campaign is not through growth but through loss of employees. HR have actively asked previous employees they “select” to write good reviews on this website.

As a former employee you may not be aware of the progress we made in 2016 with exciting and innovative product developments that have been embraced by our customers. Our leadership structure changed during 2016 and we have a strong focus on high performance at all levels - this includes from the leadership team! Yes, like every business we've lost some valued employees who we would prefer not to have lost but we've also brought some great talent into IDBS at all levels of the business to complement our teams. I hope you continue to watch our progress with interest and can say you were proud to have once been a part of IDBS.

      Poor management across the board

      Pros

      Small enough to get to know most people. If you are proactive there are great opportunities for learning and progressing (particularly if you are political and a good game player - you don't even have to be that good at your job).

      Cons

      Management is a mess. They are all too busy trying to sort themselves out that they can't see the damage it is doing to the organisation. They all have their own agendas and are not working together to make the company successful. One thing that this organisation used to have is a sense of responsibility for each other. You wouldn't to let each other down. With the behaviours of the Snr and mid- management levels that has eroded and it feels like people don't care as much.

I hope that you've seen an improvement in how the business is working together and I can honestly say that I believe a number of really positive steps were taken during 2016 which should have changed your feelings. We really want to hear feedback either direct from you or via your employee representative if that would be easier.
