Pros

convenient location and accmodating depending on your manager and department.

Cons

For a company that has been around for longer than 15 years there is no reason to still have the early on “start up pains”. The work environment is very poor and filled with slackers. Leadership is complacent and content with the level of mediocre success that is omnipresent. The interview process took over two months. After each step I asked what are the next steps in the process and would be continually told there was only one more final step. Let’s just say this went on for 4 more steps that continued over the course of 2 months. When I initially met with a recruiter we agreed that what I asked to be paid fell in the middle range of what they pay for that position and wouldn’t be an issue. I was then required to submit multiple references, college transcripts and here’s the shocker- THEY ASKED ME TO SUBMIT MY W-2 FROM MY PREVIOUS EMPLOYER BEFORE AGREEEING ON HOW MUCH TO PAY ME; only to undercut me by a lot less than what was originally agreed upon. I have never in my life been asked to provide a w-2 to a future employer. There is no formal training process and you would think that after 15 years there would be some plan in place for new hires. Nothing. I was literally told to watch a series of about 7 videos in no order and gain a full understanding of the company. Luckily if you have the slightest experience and knowledge you can do this job without help. If you’re expecting a clear path from the company- DON’T. You are thrown to the wolves and pretty much at a desk alone all day long. The CEO of the company is in the office everyday and walks around as if he is spying on everyone and not trusting that after 15 years a job is being down. However, if you’re fresh out of college and looking for a job to slack off in and understand what you’ll hate in corporate America this is the place for you. This is not a place for a professional with experience looking to grow at an organization. Roles are limited and there is no direct path for upward mobility in the company. Also, nepotism is very present at this organization and favoritism is also shown. However, they will gift you little gift cards at the end of the month if selected in a raffle to remind you that the company cares about you. There are no team building activities or company wide initiatives. This company is very disorganized and it is mind blowing that they’ve been able to stay in business this long. All of this sounds like start up issues but the company is by far no start up. Just very misguided. However, there are a lot of nice employees in the office in other departments. But the problems begin with leadership and trickle on down. Changes are trying to be made but it will take time and hopefully it progresses before those looking to make change grow tired and leave as well.
