Your experience at IEEE depends on who your supervisor is. Some supervisors are great , really supportive and make it a great experience. In my case I had a supervisor that took credit for my work, not supportive and was a bully. The company supported this behavior. When I tried to get help from HR I was let go for bringing up the issue. Medical benefits not great. I had to get an operation and had to pay for it myself out of pocket. Not cool.

It's very behind the times. Staff answers to a worldwide network of volunteers. and it's hard to move anything forward without their approval. Different departments can sometimes have vastly different flexibility and policies for staff.
