Pros
Good benefits and working conditions, life work balance. Generally nice people, staff and volunteer. Interesting mission and many ways to draw value from efforts
Cons
Whew, here we go: Many non-professional staff filling roles over their head; little bias for action, staff are content to let volunteers tell them what to do; Very political (hallway half abound!); most groups are so narrowly minded, MAJOR silos exist; infighting and lack of coordination among senior management - new hires vs old guard; senior management would be B or C team in industry; pay is way under market rate for locations; limited resources, poor infrastructure and heavy bureaucracy
