Pros

The culture promotes a high degree of engagement from all employees. Everyone is encouraged to participate in decisions and it is very open when it comes to employees being able to actually contribute to the organization. IGN is a "we" company, not a "me" company, if you want to work someplace where you can make a difference and really contribute then IGN is the place for you. IGN is also great at championing superstars. IGN constantly seeks top talent and rewards top talet with growth opportunities and career pathing.

Cons

Since IGN is a great place to work, upward mobility can sometimes be difficult because people tend to stay at IGN for long periods of time. This is something the management team is well aware of and invested in figuring out mobility for top talent.

Pros

The company definitely has a casual, gamer vibe to it. People stay late not because they have to, but because they want to. Considering it's a seasoned internet brand, it's pretty amazing how much hunger and drive for reinvention exists at IGN. The switch in leadership a few years back has brought some really fresh ideas to the company and encouraged the established content and engineering leaders to do great, new stuff.

Cons

Some of the old tech infrastructure (still) impacts experimentation and innovation.

Pros

The number one reason to work here is the coworkers alongside you. You want to do a good job because of your loyalty to your teammates.

Cons

IGN is a classic example of all employee loyalty, no company loyalty. We do our jobs well for our coworkers, but the company does little to reward us. And when loyalty to each other far outweighs loyalty to the company, you have a worrisome environment for employee retention.
