Growing Too Fast

Pros

They company is acquiring for in-organic growth. It looks good revenue-wise.

Cons

The growth is not sustainable, though, as internal systems and processes are not able to keep up. Instead of hiring more people to support this growth, increased workload is being added to individuals who are already struggling to juggle what was already on their plates. Talented people have left as a result, equivalent talent and resources have not been hired to balance out their displaced workload either.

Pros

Good benefits, decent pay, a lot of resources for its employees to learn and grow, and name recognition. Most of my coworkers were amazing; like a little family.

Cons

Too big that you become just another number/cog in a giant machine. I was part of a company that joined IMEG through a merger (like so many other companies). We were told our day-to-day would remain the same and nothing would really change. Unfortunately, after the merger, many of the leaders I was familiar with and trusted had to change roles (ex. CEO could not continue to be CEO of IMEG). They were no longer involved in our day-to-day work and lost the control they had over our culture. In my case, the leader that was in charge of our team after the merger did not value the employees like before, and it's led to resentment, tension, and mass departures. There was extensive distrust in senior leadership, and for good reason. Additionally, IMEG requires a certain level of ownership in the company before certain positions are open to you. It does, unfortunately, feel a little "pay-to-play"-esque.
