Pros

Great benefits and company activities!

Cons

Don't think out of the box if you are not an Engineer. You will be treated like a speck of dirt on a shoe if you are not an Engineer. Upper management will not protect you if you are bullied by your Supervisor at the direction of the particular office's HR. Generalist.

Pros

• Great exposure to large, complex projects. • Opportunities to work across different disciplines and sectors. • Many smart and talented colleagues. • Flexible hybrid/remote options in some teams. • People at headquarters are solid professionals and generally mean well, but they’re often buried with other responsibilities and disconnected from local office politics and realities

Cons

• IMEG is very acquisition-driven, and not all acquisitions integrate smoothly. The local office went through an M&A, and it’s never felt the same since. Morale took a hit, and there’s still an “us vs. them” dynamic years later. • Processes and standards vary greatly between offices, leading to inconsistency and rework. • Communication from upper management can feel disconnected from day-to-day realities. • Workload can be overwhelming during peak times, and resources don’t always keep pace with project demands. • Growth opportunities can feel limited if you’re not in a good relationship with your local office leadership. • The company expects staff to perform in a seller-doer model even when the market is down, which adds stress and creates unrealistic revenue expectations for technical staff who may not be interested in business development training or networks. • Salary is way below par compared to industry standards, especially for the level of responsibility and workload expected.

Pros

There really aren’t many pros to this company. Anything that would be a pro would have come from our company before it was acquired by IMEG.

Cons

Upon acquisition we were told things would remain the same, benefits would be comparable, work flow would stay the same, nothing would be interrupted, etc. All of the above are false. Projects stopped coming in, contracts were getting lost, clients were unhappy. Legacy projects flowed much better than anything within the IMEG structure. The acquisition process is slow, as expected, but training on standards and processes didn’t start until a year after, leaving us stranded on new projects with no direction. Reaching out to upper management for help and mentorship only puts a target on you. CEO preaches that lay-offs never happen and will never have to, guess what….that was another lie. And you better hope that when they do in fact come around that you are not a minority or someone with a disability on file, you’ll be the first to go. The process of being laid off was just about as cold as it could get. Upper management is 100% in it to acquire as much as they can before they all retire. They will try to get you to buy into the ESOP by telling you how great it is only to later find out you can’t touch any of those funds for a year after separation regardless of the reason for it. When acquired, the legacy company had close to 80 employees, they started leaving in flocks because of how many lies there were and how miserable the acquisition made things, there are now less than 30 employees in that specific office. If that doesn’t speak volumes I don’t know what does. Just do yourself a favor and stay away.
