Pros

In my opinion, the company's greatest asset is its culture. As best I can describe it, it's high-quality people working together to do high-quality work. We have great co-workers, interesting projects, good opportunities for career growth, and flexibility to balance work and the rest of life. Yes, I drink the Kool-Aid, but I recognized these characteristics from the outside first as a former client of INTERA. No disillusionment here. It is what it appears to be.

Cons

Not really a con, but your job is what you make of it. If you need someone to hold your hand and guide you in everything you do, this company (and industry) isn't for you. If you can take initiative and hold yourself accountable, you'll do great.

Pros

INTERA has an excellent working environment. While at INTERA I have had the chance to work on a wide range of very technical water resources and environmental engineering problems. INTERA is a leader is solving complex problems for our clients. We have been given computing resources both software and hardware. We have built several computing clusters for distributed computing. We have developed software to process spatial and temporal data. Hydrologic modeling is a mainstay for INTERA.

Cons

As with many smaller firms, INTERA will have a slower promotion rate compared to larger firms. The lack of promotions does not mean that your salary wil stagnate.
