It's a real shame I have to write this review

Pros

-LND is fantastic. Natasha Federici is one of the best in her field and I'm forever grateful for all the effort she puts into delivering training and recognising people at IRIS. I don't want to take away from her efforts in writing this honest review, IRIS really doesn't deserve her. -Apprenticeships are easy to come by -Upward progression is possible to a point, by job title only (not salary) -Some people here are really great, they aren't all bad.

Cons

It felt quite sad really attending the recent graduation knowing that this could be a great company but some individual departments in the business do not live up to that description. The pay is awful in my department. I wanted to have a future at IRIS, but I am paid significantly below market rate (~£10k+ below), with no choice but to leave (in accordance with my LM's suggestion to do so "if money is that important"). In addition, if you progress to another role, your salary is based on your previous salary (10% increase maximum, if you're lucky) not your experience or quality of work. This means you can only go up by so much each time. Low pay doesn't just affect retention, it also significantly reduces productivity. The company also places a heavy focus on sales and its sales team, neglecting a customer-service focus. Many numbers were inflated prior to the recent sale to HG and it is all falling apart now as the real numbers come out - major customers and top talent are leaving IRIS in droves, seeing the writing on the wall. I've witnessed shady practices during my time including: constructive dismissal, fire and rehire, false promises, gossip and cronyism among leaders, and many, many more.

Pros

No pros , worst place I have worked in my 15 year Sales career. Avoid !

Cons

If you value your career never step foot in this toxic place. I was employed last year in field sales, looking after existing clients. I was promised 150-200 clients , but in reality I had slightly over 50 and a £1M target. A handful of the field team that have been promoted through inside sales, have all the larger clients , and you are left with scraps. The staff churn is horrendous , I was the last person left from my cohort with most people leaving within the first 6 months. I worked with a few people who were sacked or left within the first 4-6 weeks. The culture is horrific and management play you off against each other. Deals are stolen not just from the sales person but from internal teams too. This corruption goes straight to the top.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, although we’re surprised and disappointed by your comments. The Commercial Leadership team are invested in the success of IRIS and each individual and help employees by supporting them to get deals over the line or are available for a chat when they are in our Manchester office. We have also invested in improvements to our data, systems, and marketing teams to support all of our sales professionals. We also provide our sales teams with performance mindset coaches and nutritionists, support increased movement and activity in the working day, offer great incentives, and give everyone the opportunity to maximise their earnings. We want to ensure that everyone has the tools and resources they need to be successful and we’re proud to heavily invest in a range of different training opportunities and ongoing professional development for our teams. We also work hard across IRIS to give all managers the skills they need to motivate, develop and inspire their teams, and we created our dedicated leadership pathways, open to all levels of management to provide ongoing support to unlock our managers potential and ensure they’re performing at their best. These are also CMI accredited which all of our sales leaders are expected to undertake. Employee feedback is always important to us, and we encourage all of our employees to share with us their great feedback in our monthly engagement survey Peakon. We are continuing to increase the engagement in our Sales team and are so pleased that employees have scored us 9 out of 10 on ‘Caring’ within Management Support. We also encourage our employees to reach out to our Employee Voice Ambassadors, who are given dedicated training on how to interpret and action Peakon feedback, facilitate meetings, and lead with empathy. We are proud to have 10 ambassadors in Sales & Marketing, who listen to the teams’ collective voices to be cascaded up to our senior leaders and executive team, thereby helping implement positive change and further improve engagement. We’re sorry to hear that this hasn’t been your experience and would encourage you to reach out to our HR Director for Commercial, Kerry McAtkin, so that we can help put things right. We’re always looking for ways we can be the best we can be, and we would welcome any further suggestions. Please reach out to the HR team or email EmployeeFeedback@iris.co.uk. Kind regards, the HR team
