      Good place to work

      Pros

      Worked for 30 years as a revenue agent. People I worked with were professional, knowledgeable and dedicated. Training use to be top notch. Basically received a masters in taxation when initially hired. Work life was great. Woman receive equal pay and do to EEOC laws minorities and woman have a better than average chance of promotions.

      Cons

      Because of budget cuts, training is now virtually nonexistent, promotions are limited and supplies are tough to come by. Managers aren't alway the best. Although, I was fortunate to have good ones during my career.

      Pros

      Flexibility, great mentors, vast array of opportunities, job stability, and overall great teamwork from co-workers.

      Cons

      Seasonal peaks not as long in certain departments, pay freezes every now and then, hardly any recognition from upper management, training can be sub-par at best depending on department.

      Pros

      Most of the people I worked with were great. I learned a lot about taxes through the great training that they used to have and there used to be room for advancement

      Cons

      Most of the above has changed. No room for advancement because of the hiring freeze that has been in place for the last 3 years, and the training dollars have been cut substantially.
