Pros

-Individuals are promoted based on favortism and NOT skills. So as long as you're overly friendly to management, you can get promoted VERY easily. -There is no accountability here so you can get away with a lot more! Enjoy the break here. Take advantage of the flexibility! -The people. There is a big segregation on teams within the organization, but the people are generally pleasant. - Decent benefits! Non engineers get only 2 weeks PTO, engineers get 3 weeks. So Engineers can start very strong! - Donut Wednesdays.

Cons

Management, favoritism, financial shuffling, micromanagement and NO accountability. Especially in Operations and upper management. - Individuals are promoted based on favoritism and NOT skills. Therefore, it takes someone in management promoting friends or those that threaten to quit. - Under pay! The market has grown but not their pay. The favorites get higher bonus and rates than those that are not. - Unethical financial dealings. They move money around from each branch to cover a red performing branch to fluff their 'revenue' or 'profits'. They do the same with projects. It's scary!! If they were ever audited they would FAIL because they are cross transferring when they shouldn't. Imagine being a paying client and realizing your portion paid for another project NOT yours. - NOT A FEMALE FRIENDLY ENVIRONMENT!! Male dominate and very misogynistic. There are NO female managers but one. No women are outside administrative positions. Management is very vocal about liking it that way. -New ideas are not good ideas. Only if the Manager claims the idea is it a good idea. No one gets credit for their ideas only Management. - Dated technology and processes. -NO 401k. They promise they will, but they wont. - Some teams management only work half days/weeks. Their teams suffer quite a bit because they aren't around to train or help. Therefore, new hires train themselves and usually get the blunt end of the recoil if it's wrong. - Big jobs are the priority but not educating and training lower levels to help support. Gap in talent.

Pros

Some teams and people are easy to get along with. The company has the potential to expand into an emerging market of growing support design regulations. Management will rarely interact with you.

Cons

This company is currently an absolute mess, instead of training new employees they offer a share point profile that they claim has a plethora of great resources. Unfortunately its half baked and completely disorganized. it is nothing more than a glorified scratch sheet with topics placed in the context of being useful, then forgotten, leaving snippets of possibly good information if you get lucky to find what you happen to be looking for. Management spend an unhealthy amount of time gossiping (the main topic being their employees) and are in no way, shape or form a solid resource when issues arise. I spent half my time asking about a simple matter, waiting a day for a response, and the reply showing a lack of understanding of the question. Eventually I gave up asking management questions as it was always more effective to figure out a solution on my own or to ask a collogue. They pay bottom rates for the talent they hire, One employee had to press for a raise for 3 months which was promised to him at the interview, and there is a running joke about 401K matching as its always a rumor but never a reality. During my time without proper guidance, training, or resources I was able to complete my projects, do as I was told, and even make improvements but I was still under the constant ire of management that made unrealistic expectations. Ineffective management wasted all of the potential talent of the pipe stress division, which led to an almost total exodus of all in-house engineers (including their most senior engineer) subsequently they are only able to hold on to remote workers. I was given a negative review because I was given a project new to the company and the senior engineer in charge didn't understand how to do it then bailed, leaving me the mess. Another used me as an escape goat because he didn't make deadline on his project when my only responsibility was to help. I took time off to help with a family emergency and this was brought up in my subsequent review. I was told that I should not have taken the time to help my mother because "we are all adults here and we have work to do." Needless to say management was deplorable and created a very negative environment. I did not feel valued and neither did many of the other engineers I worked with.
