Bad company, bad management

Pros

No experience needed in order to get a job, so it is good when coming out of college. Really nothing positive to say. Overall a very negative experience, but it is something to put on a resume.

Cons

Extremely high turnover rate because the higher ups do not value their workers. Family run so all higher positions are held by family members, even if they are not qualified for the position. There is a lack of direction and training upon hiring. I applied for one position and accepted that position but on the first day was told that I was actually going to work in a different department. The company also forces employees to use their PTO on holidays when the office is closed, even though this is never discussed during the hiring process. The company is extremely cheap and is still using software from 2003 even though it causes the employees problems daily. There is also a toxic office culture that is fueled by catty talk behind employees backs. Supervisors would call employees extremely derogatory names behind their backs with no repercussions from management. The owners were observed yelling, fighting, and throwing things in the office which creates a hostile work environment. I would avoid this company at all costs. It makes sense that the interview and hiring process is so fast, most employees only stay a short period of time before finding a new job. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Pros

extremely flexible with employees taking days off. they do not reprimand you if you come in late in the morning. very lax environment. I like the routine nature of the work and the hours. they are good with giving verbal praise and appreciation if you work hard.

Cons

they only give raises after a year of employment, regardless of workload. promotions do not equal a raise. I was promoted and was given a larger workload and was still making the same amount as new employees who did not have a large workload. the "higher ups" are not friendly or approachable. both managers give people major attitude and talk down to people/make you feel dumb if you ask a question. also, if you're working hard they do say good job, but unfortunately if they see someone else not answering the phones and not doing their work (ie: texting, surfing the web) they won't reprimand them.

Pros

401k program and pto are both reasonable

Cons

Starting pay is not based on experience or college degree (everyone starts off the same), treated poorly by upper management, lots of complaining throughout the office, girls are very catty and show lots of behavior seen in high school. The office favorites will choose if you are liked or not liked by upper management if they don't like you neither will the Reardons. If you like drama this is the perfect place for you, if you like to be talked down to it is the place to work ! Absolutely no room for growth unless you are a Reardon!
