Pros

(With regards to the Research department) Decent as a first job out of college- no prior experience is necessary. Good for putting a year of work experience on a resume. Overtime can be worked whenever desired (paid time and half).

Cons

(With regards to the Research department) Office environment is very catty and reminiscent of high school- employees gossip about each other behind backs and closed doors. Positive feedback on performance is very rarely given, only critiques on work done incorrectly. No opportunities to be promoted from within- company is family-owned and all experienced positions are held by family members only. Employees not related to family are treated unfairly (pay greatly varies despite similar job positions and experience levels). Money is often valued higher over employee well-being- managers refuse to hire enough individuals to meet demands (too expensive), resulting in several hours of "mandatory overtime", particularly around holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas. Occasional, friendly office chat is prohibited.

Pros

Its a job, but not a good one. You basically work from home, although you travel to the sites.

Cons

EVERYTHING! You don't get paid your worth at all and they don't give anyone enough cases to count as an actual job! They bought a company with full time investigators then told everyone lies about supplying them with work like they had in the past. They failed and hardly even supply cases and they listed everyone as part time when they promised full time work. They take micro-managing to whole new level!!! They take the majority of the driving pay that used to be given to these investigators. This company automatically take 2 hours of pay away every day. You might be given a case 2 hours away and they send you home after 2-4 hours. The wear and tear of the vehicle don't even get covered for the low pay!!! Wages should be higher for the amount of wear and tear since they no longer cover driving time. Investigators have to worry about taking spot video every 30 min basically set to a timer. Its tedious and unnecessary and one focuses more on the video than the actual case and what is going on. And they never get the paychecks right! Extremely High cost of insurance if its offered at all!
