Pros

Not really any pros. At least everyone is remote now

Cons

Only those that leadership feels they can control and who are their "favorites" are promoted. It is out of control - people that aren't experienced in a department are promoted to leading the department. ISPE is a ridiculous place and there are a lot of jobs out there in the world right now, I suggest you find one of those. A good number of current staff are looking for jobs also.

Pros

Professional industry. Opportunity to interact with people all over the world. The office closes for two weeks over the year end holidays.

Cons

The organization has been bleeding money for the past 6 years. They have been laying people off continuously. VP's have been running for the exits. Even the CEO is leaving at the end of 2014. The sales department is managed, or shall I say micro-managed, by an old school type. Don't take a job in this department, in particular. You will be expected to work more and more, for less compensation.

Too Many Negatives to Make Up for the Positives

Pros

Remote work, week off between Christmas and New Years, some of the people are great

Cons

CEO - Has major anger issues, constantly seems annoyed with staff, doesn't seem to trust staff to do a good job, doesn't proactively foster a sense of a positive work environment Salary - Meritocracy doesn't exist here. If you work your butt off and do a great job, you will not be rewarded. Doesn't matter if you work 40 hours a week or 80 hours a week; it will go unrecognized, so you might as well just do 40 hours a week and set your boundary for a sane work/life balance. Senior management tries to sell employees on "we hire great people, that should keep you wanting to stay at ISPE." Most of the people are great, but a) people are never a reason to stay because anyone can leave at any given point in time, b) there are a few people who aren't great to work with who are in upper management and they carry a lot of weight in fostering a negative work environment, and c) my coworkers don't pay my bills
