Pros

Provided with decent health benefits

Cons

No appreciation or respect for support employees. Pay is extremely low relative to what is offered by other companies for the same position. Busy season is EXTREMELY overwhelming for support employees (expect hundreds of customer emails in your inbox everyday in September/October). Higher ups do not want to hire more people or early enough to train them adequately.

Low pay, no raises

Pros

Co-workers and supervisors are nice. Most advanced students are a pleasure to work with.

Cons

Pay for part-timers is extremely low ($12 an hour) with no chance for a raise until two years w/ company. Required cross training means all tutors now expected to master a lot more content and entirely different teaching approaches for beginning adults and children with no increase in hourly wage base. Part-timers are excluded from all benefits except 401K. Hours limited to no more than 25 weekly so IXL won't have to pay benefits but now we are being pressured to work right up to that 25-hour mark, which is hard to do when this is a second job.

Heartless company with no vision

Pros

Some of the people I work with are very talented and proficient at their job and easy to work with.

Cons

Management does not care about the wellbeing of the employees and very robotic. Very low pay with little chance of raises. Always trying to cut costs and corners instead of trying to make their employees happy. Instead, they keep on acquiring companies and laying people off and not backfilling roles. Employees are getting exhausted taking on so much work without the extra pay. It is a shame because they create a product which helps kids learn so you think management would be more caring but unfortunately it's not the case.
