      Great company, it's not Camelot, but it's great to work for

      Pros

      Managers care for their team, it is important for the company that employees feel comfortable where they are working.

      Cons

      It is a very fast growing company and there are some lapses. Have seen a few people let go because the company is heading in a different direction because it is such a new company. Discrepancies between departments.

      Pros

      The work is meaningful and the work is well-managed. The various iterations of finding a product have already happened so most of the work involves executing. There is very little wasted effort, and there is very little discarded work. Work is under way to migrate off of some of the most out-of-date technologies onto more current platforms. This is a great place for folks at the start of their careers.

      Cons

      This is not a high-risk, high-reward place to work. There's not much equity available and the major decisions have already been made on the overall framework.

      Pros

      IXL Learning is a technology company in the first place, and has established very good standards for coding conventions, engineering principles, internal tools, etc. You definitely get the chance to grow yourself to become a better engineer. In addition, you'll have smart and friendly coworkers, good work life balance, great product, and challenging projects to work on. These are what you'll get at IXL, but should never take for granted.

      Cons

      None that I can think of.
