A once great company that appears to be falling off
Pros
Freedom to innovate technically Great coworkers and community Relaxed environment Plenty of learning opportunities Recent technology stack Partial remote policy is a nice start Benefits are ok; Health and 401k are good A fun place to get started in a career
Cons
Chaotic leadership. The company direction tends to be very reactive while they are simultaneously attempting to implement every 'next big idea' that comes along without any of the resources needed and extremely short timelines. Often there are conflicting signals from upper management and or no direction at all which can leave middle management and developers flailing about trying to guess what to do. The developers are great, but they are heavily staffed with junior developers and not many experienced developers left to bear the mentoring load. Also, while the benefits are decent, and there are some fun perks, the pay is not competitive from my experience. It's disappointing to see where this company has been heading because this trend is fairly recent and has only gotten worse over the past few years. I was very happy to join ImageTrend back in the day, but it doesn't feel like the same company anymore.
