Pros

This is an organization with a mission that you can get behind and feel great about -- helping kids learn to read so they can get an education and have a shot at life. Additionally: Flat organization means anyone can talk to leadership about anything, friendly people, plenty of celebrating & food, and (from what I can tell) slightly above average pay. Good benefits and time off policies.

Cons

Because we have to respond to the market (like successful and real companies have to do), sometimes we have to adjust priorities and change what we are doing. I know some people don't like that. Promotion opportunities exist, but not to the same degree they would in a Fortune 100 company.

Pros

Working in the field has some enormous advantages. I would highly recommend it. Working with teachers / principles is great, best of all is seeing actual progress and growth with students in schools.

Cons

very difficult to advance. Nepotism is rampant, although shrinking. Sales runs the roost. many support folks are treated as 2nd class to the sales organization. Nobody polices what is fairly abusive behavior by the sales team as long as they reach quota, they are untouchable.

Thank you for writing a review. It sounds like you really love working with educators, and you're passionate about helping children, and that makes us thrilled to have you on our team! As you undoubtedly know, our sales and support teams work hand in hand to provide sustainable support for our educational partners. Our support employees are an essential part of taking care of our customers, and they are extremely important to us. Likewise, our sales team members are dedicated, passionate, and persistent—and they have been extremely successful. We have industry-standard sales incentives in place, and we feel they are working well, motivating the sales team to deliver consistently good results. Given the above dynamics, we don't tolerate "abusive behaviors." We strongly encourage you to speak to your manager or human resources if you feel that unjustified things are happening so we can work to remedy the problems. We are happy to see that you have been with us for five years and hope that it will be many more!

Great perks, but a LOT left to be desired.

Pros

Very flexible schedule; expense account to cover all associated work costs (including meals); and warm, helpful, and intelligent colleagues.

Cons

Lack of communication across departments; base salary not sufficient to retain high-level talent; and disconnected values and goals.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts about Imagine Learning. We appreciate the feedback about choppy communication across departments. We recently implemented a new communications channel for all employees to stay informed of important information, and we think it's working well! We're surprised at the opinion that our values and goals are disconnected because we try to ingrain our corporate values in everything we do. We think if you read other reviews, you will see that others say that Imagine Learning truly stands out in this area.
