The floor staff is really helpful in the houses and we all get along. Getting to help the clients is great.

Cons

Short-staffed, not many schedule options (6am-2pm or 1/2pm-9/10pm), poor supervision

Working with the great staff. Lots of opportunity to smile and laugh during the day.

Cons

High turnover. Taking care of the consumers doesn't always allow you to take care of yourself.

Pros

Very accommodating with schedules, you'll get to work with an awesome population and feel very fulfilled at the end of the day.

Cons

Transparency of policies is low, even sometimes purposely misleading. Middle/upper management is has cliques and as a result there is often a lack of trust from direct care professionals and unless you get in with the cliques, you have little chance of promotion.

Our managers work directly with all of their direct reports to better understand their desires and career paths. We promote not only in the current program, but also throughout the organization as a whole.
