Great tech but management has no direction

Pros

-Ability to work on a multitude of tech - Great co workers, learnt a lot from them - Ability to approach and talk to managers -Small agile teams

Cons

- Company has a hybrid strategy. Tries to focus on both products and IP, however the focus is more on generating more IP and less on the products. - Many products get developed but doesn't see the light of the day as previous relationships between companies and Immersion was sour. - Less engineering and more IP focused.

Pros

There are/were very passionate people here. Of course there would be in such a niche topic. There's a great work/life balance, mostly due to lack of product. Some catered lunches, and a very nice office, with opportunity to travel often.

Cons

Management is out of touch, because they don't need to be. They're out of touch with their own employees and the product market. Innovation is stifled when no one wants to work with you for fear of lawsuits. Employees are rewarded on their politics and tenure instead of knowledge and experience.

A company in the midst of an identity crisis

Pros

Good people, they try to make the work environment enjoyable. Plenty of work life flexibility. Lots of food!

Cons

Deep seated politics, big focus on lawsuits, incredibly introverted management with little sense of the customer and marketplace. Incredibly short term business focus and stifling internal legal oversight leaves little chance of individual employee success or new revenue streams from the patent portfolio.
