Pros

In-N-Out: Pays well (as of 9/29/11, they pay $10 starting wage in CA) Has decent benefits Flexible with school

Cons

-Inconsistent Pay: While the hourly wage is great, hours fluctuate greatly until you move up in the company. Throughout your time there, it can be anywhere from 10-40+ hours per week. Pay varies every week, so every check is pretty different. -Benefits are good (vision and dental for part-timers). However, the company doesn't seem to cover a lot of practitioners. -Sales and competition are pushed quite a bit for a fast food place; can be over the top and stressful. -In my limited experience (only worked at one store), management doesn't do much. My manager plays on his phone for most of the day.

Pros

Free food, good starting pay compared to industry standard. Very flexible when it comes to work schedule. Interacting with the customers.

Cons

There are not too many cons, but I would say sometimes it can get annoying if management is not all the same page. Customers can sometimes be too complicated with orders.

Pros

I worked at In N Out for 3.5 yrs and loved it. When I needed to be temporarily relocated for medical reasons the company completely understood and another store accommodated me with the more hours than I was getting at my original store. You can make a lot of close friends and some stores even see themselves as a family and do everything together. If you really show the managers that you want to move up and keep improving then you will be moved up quickly. Overall fun company to work for but it is hard and fast paced work so there is no time for slacking off! Had to leave cause of moving to another state and miss it!

Cons

If you want a job where you can just breeze on by through your hours with doing nothing then this is not the job for you! Work can be very stressful especially during rushes and especially if the rush is at night, mainly because managers schedule significantly less employees to work nights. Can be an adrenaline rush though! Also (not in every store obviously) sometimes when people move up they get this false sense of "I'm better than you" almost like a popularity contest which can be rather annoying and managers tend to turn a blind eye at times so try to report things cause most likely others have done the same which can easily fix the problem. If you are looking for full time you gotta be dedicated. It's really hard to get it and keep it. Managers like to schedule you just shy of the target hours you need and it can get frustrating.
