Pros

flexible hours, good pay and benefits, coworkers can become like family, opportunity for advancement

Cons

If you don't mind your life being ruled by the arrow, it's great. If you want to be a higher level and do something as simple as go to the doctor, you need to request that off at least a month in advance and pray you get the time off, otherwise some 16 year old kid can just call out and you are screwed. There is overtime - without any warning. You'll think you have only 10 minutes left on your shift, but then the shift manager TELLS you that you'll be staying longer and no, they don't know how much longer. Also, the customer is right...to an extent. Customers are allowed to do and say whatever they want to you and if you even defend yourself, you WILL BE FIRED. I have seen a customer SPIT on an associate and the associate just had to stand there and take it and APOLOGIZE TO THE CUSTOMER.

Pros

The pay would have to be the only thing that made me stay an associate. Meeting a lot of people that were coworkers and customers. They hold many events and competitions throughout the year that let you mingle with associates from other stores. There are about 7 levels the last is management, moving up positions should be easy if you are willing to work hard and always ask managers what is required to move up in each level.

Cons

Breaks with 6 hr shifts were only 10 min. or with 8 hr shifts 30 min. You only get one meal for free while working, no discounts. If you are looking for a slow paced, lenient, sloppy kind of work environment then this job is not for you.
