Pros

This is a remote first environment.

Cons

The engineering culture here is aggressive and high-pressure, driven by management. This environment can be harmful to one's mental health. Be prepared for unprofessional behavior, including direct obscenities from engineering managers under pressure. I strongly advise against working here. Frequent reorganizations are common, yet upper management seems unaware of the real issue—middle management's inefficiencies. Despite consistent feedback from employees, no meaningful change has occurred. This has led to continuous resignations, as many are leaving due to the persistent lack of competence among several managers.

Pros

Some of the coworkers were incredibly intelligent and kind.

Cons

Where do I even begin? They had their first layoff back in January 2020. This came as a surprise to many people because we all thought the company was doing well. The CEO hyped the entire company up by projecting that we'll sign one of the biggest e-commerce company as one of our clients. This actually never happened on paper as it was just all early-stage talks. The business model was also a joke. What started out as a second opinion concierge turned into a major call-center. We constantly hired Care Coordinators to help mitigate the volume and calls. Salespeople weren't hitting their quotas because the product itself wasn't anything to "wow" for in customers' eyes. The leadership said all the right things and fed lies to the employees. The severance package was based on seniority and many people who were let go only worked at Grand Rounds for less than a year. Therefore, they were screwed because the severance package only lasted them a month. How ironic that they want to help sick patients but they can't even take care of their employees. Stay away from this employer at all costs!

Pros

- There are some genuinely talented individuals on the team, though they often aren't rewarded or compensated as they deserve. - The company holds promise and has potential for growth.

Cons

- It's notable that several directors posted five star reviews in a few days span. There is focus on image over addressing core management issues. - The work environment here can be quite demanding for a software engineer. The work doesn't always align with the mission. - There's an implicit expectation to put in extra hours without due recognition. - The software tools provided could be improved greatly. - The current structure seems to put managers in a tight spot, making it challenging for them to fully support their teams.
