Pros

The company's mission is spot on - healthcare is broken, and fixing it doesn't mean just making it better for those who have it. It means making it accessible for all. I'm proud of that mission and being part of something so needed. Included Health pays well, and the new benefit programs are solid.

Cons

In theory, IH is focused on the outcomes - the 'how' is supposed to be important. But more and more, it's not about the how and the results are expected to come at any cost. The environment is becoming increasingly cutthroat and relentless, even as it promotes concepts like "a day of thanks" which are intended to be employee-focused. Like anything else, this comes from the top. The entire C-suite demands perfection - this is not a coaching environment, and it is not for the faint of heart. Getting to IPO is #1, #2 and #3. Do not ask questions, don't voice concerns. You will be shown the door.

Pros

On paper, the mission, company values, and cultural tenants are good. Attempts at employee support and development.

Cons

The values also seem to get warped in practice with an extremely political culture that is very appearance based. There is a "party-line" which if you don't follow and try to engage in meaningful discussions and challenges, are considered to be "cynical" and not "bringing your best self". Overwork and burnout are rampant due to management making extremely, almost to the point of unrealistic , goals without the proper support frameworks to be able to deliver. Huge unaddressed diversity problem in engineering.

Pros

Great company growing incredibly fast to become one of the front runners of digital healthcare disruption in the US. Every day is exciting and the company is adding a lot of employees each month. Work environment and culture are top notch. They are hiring the highest caliber of employees and I really enjoy working with my colleagues. Very good location of the office in San Francisco with a fantastic roof top. Lots of employee "fun" events. Tons of snacks. Lots of swag.

Cons

None really. This company is a great place to work.
