Pros

Good Benefits Great Location Generally friendly staff Nice office space Generally no open floor plans Good facilities such as cafeteria and gym

Cons

Data warehousing management is not comfortable communicating realistic project expectations and deadlines during project planning with higher ups, for which employees regularly suffer. They just want the department to churn, which is not effective for cost savings or our reputation in the long run. There is also an obvious bias among some data warehouse management, who prefer hiring and promoting employees of their own race. Management is clearly more comfortable interacting with these employees, which creates an unspoken us vs them culture in the department. The needs of data warehouse staff are frequently ignored. Previously there were managers of BSAs. Now BSAs are reporting to managers of development. The BSAs that were involved in building the data warehouse, did not initially have experience in data warehousing. Talented analysts were pooled from various departments in IBC, and then trained in data warehousing practices. This approach worked well and resulted in the creation of the warehouse that has been running for the past 10 years. Quietly lays off groups of workers.
