Great People, Upper Management Disconnected, Layoffs!

Pros

The building itself is very nice, especially since the re-model. Work life balance. Co-workers, peers and overall friendliness of people within the company. IBX free Gym is a very nice perk when there is time.

Cons

Management can be disconnected and far from understanding of the pain points from a BAU perspective. I've had the pleasure of working for several great managers, but most recently have had my first and last experience at IBX with a poor manager. Management should manage and communicate effectively, rather than try to socialize and become your friend. Lastly, being here for so many years, you come to understand that Layoffs come quite often. I was lucky in the past, however, not so lucky this time. I was given my notice and my interactions with HR for my separation were extremely poor. They try to emphasize all of the programs offered to help with the transition, but when speaking directly to them in person or via email, they are unresponsive and very "cold" during meetings with no indication that they have any interest of helping. Lastly, the salaries are below-average compared to similar roles and companies in the area.
