Pros

Very Competitive Pay, Great Hours, Excellent Benefits, Free Healthy Meals and overall a good mission.

Cons

In theory, this company could be a game changer....I mean like save the world gamechanger. However, Execution is the worst I have ever seen. Management is very disorganized, direction changes too fast for anyone to keep up with. End Consumer-The Growers are left confused because the offerings change before their growing season is even over. There is no trust and poor communication from the top down all the way to the growers we're supposed to be helping. Ask 10 people the same question and get 10 different answers. Also, no integrity---Just whatever it takes to make it look good on paper to investors in order to get IPO and go public. No job security and no clear direction. This ship is sinking fast.

Pros

Benefits and coworkers are great

Cons

I've never worked for a company as disorganized as this one. There is no clear direction from anyone top down. When I started, microbial treatment was our top goal. When I was let go, that was barely even talked about. No focus, no direction. Upper management is trying ANYTHING to keep this sinking ship afloat but unfortunately, I don't think that is possible. No one up top knows what they want, so they can't relay a message down below. No communication. Goals are unattainable and workers are treated like disposable entities. There have been SEVERAL rounds of layoffs in the past 2 months - this includes entire departments being wiped out, people being demoted arbitrarily, laying off people who were hired two months ago, etc. The company keeps restructuring hoping that this will be what makes the company actually work but having an actual focus will be the only saving grace. Indigo's mission is to help farmers, but that's the last of their worries. Indigo cares more about their perception than actually paying growers on time and doing what's best for THEM. I genuinely feel bad for the growers who have been conned into thinking this company is revolutionary.

As you know, Indigo was founded on the idea of systematically changing the agriculture industry for the benefit of growers, consumers and the planet. Along the way, we have tried many products and services. Some of our work was successful, some of it simply didn’t meet growers’ needs and didn’t work. We are focused on the tools needed to support grower profitability, including Indigo Marketplace. Marketplace grew over 50 percent per month in the second half of 2019 and currently over half of all the grain buyers in the U.S. are customers. We have been overwhelmed by transaction volume and have enhanced our payment process to address this. Thank you for your review and thank you for the positive comments about employee benefits and your colleagues.

Pros

They claim to be cutting edge and "fast paced", and wish they honestly were, don't be fooled.

Cons

Management, top down confusion, dishonesty, claim to be a "Disruptor" without solid plan, and where they are going. Save your resume and skip Indigo.

Hello and thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. It's always helpful to understand perspective from employees. For anyone considering joining Indigo, if you read all reviews, you will see a theme that we move at a fast pace. For some this is a good fit; for others it is not. We try to acknowledge this (vs. "claim") so that people can accurately assess the culture. We do believe we are disrupting the industry and when CNBC ranked us #1 on their Disruptor 50 list, we were excited that they agreed. https://www.cnbc.com/cnbc-disruptors/ Like every company, we have growing pains, and every person applying to Indigo and reading these reviews should read them and use them as a part of their decision making process and I am grateful for every employee who takes the time to comment even when it's not positive. I don't agree with all of this reviewer's comments, but we will always listen.
