Hypocrite and bullish Management

Pros

Free food, travel compensation, health care benefits

Cons

This company is filled with racist, sexist and narcissist middle level and Sr level managers in microbial R&D teams! Company talks about transparency and open communication which doesn’t reflect in their work culture which is toxic and can truly harm your mental health. Please don’t use the tag line “with questions we grow” when you have egoistic managers who feel threatened and constantly micromanage the team instead of creating a healthy environment to nurture young scientists and support their professional growth. There is no need to hire a Scientist and micromanage their work. All you really need is an RA or technician to execute your clumsy ideas that fail half the time and waste resources. Some hypocrite managers and Sr. Employees are still holding on to their jobs because all they care about is their stock options and how much money they can make once the company goes public.

Pros

People --the brightest minds and most fun group of people (except those in executive leadership) Tech, benefits including health insurance, pay, snacks, lunches, coffee machines--there was no budget. My father used to say, "it's too good to be true. it isn't sustainable." And he was right and it wasn't. I cannot begin to imagine their annual operating budget between Memphis and Boston offices.

Cons

Ask anyone who worked for this company and they can never tell you what it is that Indigo does other than some company byline that was composed by marketing around a board room table. They don't make anything, provide any services, etc. It's all smoke and mirrors. Producers of American Greed need to get tipped off on this company and complete an investigation. This is the biggest scam and investors who have donated tens of millions of dollars are going to be scratching their heads that they were duped by yet another Ponzi scheme.

Leadership and Employees On Different Trains

Pros

Employees under the Senior Manager level are trustworthy and have high integrity for the most part 5-7 leaders who are trustworthy The benefits are pretty strong

Cons

Even if the Carbon program makes it, our reputation is crap, and we'll have so many hurdles to cross with growers that other companies will beat us to the finish line. Transport is led by some questionable characters. "Town Hall" meetings with the CEO on stage for 45 min to answer snarky questions and comments are a sight to behold. There is no culture and are no values. (COO asked everyone to gather around for values sessions, then canceled them and told us what the values would be.) Leaders have no idea of the issues on the ground. There are no efforts to fix the problems (from leaders). The ones working to solve anything are not the face of the company. Leaders do not care about reputational challenges. Leaders do not value long-time employees. Leaders are politicians. CEO hires COO who hires friends. A lot of talking "at" and not talking "with" going on. I am living in a twilight zone back in middle school.
