Pros

Once in a lifetime opportunity to not only disrupt an industry but to do it in an industry that is fundamentally critical to the survival of humanity. We're building something very special at the intersection of Biological Science, Technology and Agriculture. Small things: Free lunch Free parking Great benefits

Cons

It's an intense place with a lot of moving parts and a lot of ambiguity. We are iterating rapidly and moving fast because we need to. All of this is a result of the massive opportunity and the urgency to capitalize on the window we have. If you aren't comfortable with this type of an environment it might not be the place for you.

Energizing Workplace

Pros

Company is driven by the mission to help improve the sustainability of agriculture including improving farmer profitability. As a byproduct of its mission, the company has the possibility of building a large company. This approach is an ideal one to building a business as it is highly engaging workplace. Company moves at a super fast pace which is fun albeit really pushes one to their capacity. For a young company, it is performing very well and is well funded . As a result does, it feels like an almost too good to be true mix of what is great about a start-up and a bigger company. The team is extraordinary and keeps getting bigger and better.

Cons

Work can be pretty intense with many deadlines and a lot of stretch goals but one should not reasonably expect improving agriculture to be an easy task.

Thank you for writing your review of Indigo. I think that the chances for growth as well as constant learning within a mission-driven organization are some of the things that make Indigo a truly special place to work. Thank you also for raising your concerns. I’m sorry to hear that you feel that Indigo is hierarchical; if you’re comfortable doing so, I’d encourage you to talk with your manager, department head, or someone on the People Team so we can work together to address your concerns. We sincerely want our people to be empowered to contribute and innovate without miscommunication or feeling encumbered. We’re proud of our internal Innovation Exchange, and part of our 2017 plan is to continue looking for new ways to encourage and reward innovation. As far as scientific expertise, I’m surprised to hear your comment and wonder where it is coming from. We’ve been lucky in attracting incredible talent from bigger agricultural and life sciences companies due to their passion and belief in our mission – which inspires many of us every day. However, if you have ideas for expertise areas/companies that we are not currently represented in, we’d love to hear your suggestions directly. I truly hope that the pros for you far outweigh the cons, and again encourage you to come forward so your ideas and concerns can be heard directly. Thank you for caring about our success.
