Pros

Salary and benefits are the best I've ever had. The training and onboarding were comprehensive, but the pace of change is so fast, it's impossible for it to be relevant when employees get out in the field.

Cons

There's a push to go public and because of that, they've let go most of their sales staff (inside and outside) because they'd be vested and cash in when the price of the stock goes up. The company has a hectic, disorganized vibe where no one really seems to know what the top priorities are from one day to the next. It's like a wannabe Google with out a concise plan or direction. There seems to be great transparency, but the feeling I got is they've already burned through $850 million due to poor financial management. They were gifted with another $200 plus million and from what I can tell this might be the last chance for the C-suite. If they figure it out, this company could be a complete game changer. I don't think they can, though.

Pros

The pay was above average. Benefits were strong. Had some excellent co-workers. Lots of interesting ideas.

Cons

The management of the sales team was shocking. Honestly, like nothing I’ve seen before in my career. Indigo Ag has instituted a culture of fear and dishonesty in the Memphis office and the commercial sales team. The worst part of the whole deal was that the Account Managers were seemingly the only employees truly being held accountable. If goals were not being hit it was always the account managers fault for underperforming. Never the managers, never the sales leaders, never the people building the offers we had to present. The company has ambitious (ridiculous) goals they are shooting for and the sales team was always set up to fail. The Boston office is on an island and I’m sure those employees have a much different experience than the Memphis office employees or the remote sales people. I would think that the majority of the 5 star reviews on this site for Indigo come from the Boston office. It’s one thing to be ambitious and have big goals and to be aggressive. It’s another thing entirely to be desperate and dishonest. The way the sales people were treated at this company was appalling. I hope everyone lands on their feet after Indigo and moves on to better things. Indigo Ag should be ashamed of themselves for treating people the way they do.

Pros

Coworkers are generally nice, good insurance and pay

Cons

No job security, constantly shifting gears and wasting millions of dollars. All of a sudden we are out of money...weird things going on right now. Also the marketplace idea, which has failed before, is failing again...can’t believe I fell for the lies.

Thank you for providing feedback, I’m glad to hear the positive comments about your colleagues and our benefits. Innovation is core to our mission, which requires us to be nimble in the way we operate. As you know, Indigo is committed to driving positive change in the agriculture industry, but we are only at the beginning of that endeavor. That means we will inevitably pursue new approaches when something isn’t working or adjust business units where we see an opportunity. With thousands of growers and nearly half of all buyer facilities in the U.S. enrolled, the marketplace businesses are demonstrating strong performance indicators. Thanks again for taking the time to provide your feedback.
