Work life balance isn't great and pay rate is not decent

The training they provide to freshers (what they call new hires) is short and shallow. In other words; do not expect anything of substance (at least in the US). Do not bother learning from their in-house online learning platform, Lex. Text seems to be written by beginners who copy-paste from online, not actual experts. You will better off learning solo from Youtube or Khan Academy. What will matter is the on-the-job training when you get assigned to a client. However, you must prepare to hustle to get assignments. After a month of training, you will be on bench, awaiting assignment by HR. Some people get lucky and get assigned quickly; some do not and sometime quietly layoff after a few months if nothing happens. Do not be complacent and sit waiting. Network, hustle, skill-up, (maybe even apply to new jobs) until you get an assignment from Infosys. Constantly follow-up if you are expecting things, because HR is incompetent sometime. I had to pester to get my flight ticket the day before I had to fly out of state for training. It made little sense to fly for training, when there were training classes right in the same big building I was hired in. My teacher did not even know she had a new student, and the training was already 1/4 in progress. Also, Infosys had to transfer her from India for this short-term task, as if there were no other tech savvy person who could train us.
