I had to take the job.

Pros

It was a paycheck. The people were nice enough, and the job was a great learning opportunity.

Cons

The pay for the job description is about 3/4 of going market rate, there wasn't a great feeling of "team". Meetings were called over the weekend for before the start of the work day on the first work day after. Company culture made me nervous and unsure of if taking the job was the right choice. I took it as I had no choice being on unemployment I was required to take any suitable work. My issue isn't so much with Infotech, as it was with the unemployment system. I wasn't comfortable with them when they gave me the job offer. Nice people for sure, just I didn't feel the corporate culture and I were a great fit...

Can Be Great, Usually Just Good

Pros

Nearly everyone is incredibly nice and supportive, work life balance is usually prioritized, benefits are pretty good, remote culture is fun. In my experience there is a very laid back attitude to software that won't have you working 24/7. Depending on what team you're on your experience will be very different, but there are some really great team leads. Feels like a secure job. Flexible schedules are common.

Cons

Management refers to the company as a "family" often which can feel lowkey toxic and become hypocritical, there's often lots of red tape and meetings that get in the way of getting actual work done. Not a lot of professional development opportunities offered, in my experience.

Pros

Good environment and friendly coworkers. Remote work is very common.

Cons

The work can sometimes feel disorganized, documentation is at times lacking but they were actively adding on.
