Pros

Smart people who actually want to make a difference in the world

Cons

Fear culture at the top - the CEO still rules with an iron fist Horrible benefits Not a software company - no room for innovation Lack of communication - lots of rumor mongering No scope of growth unless you are connected at the top And yes - forget about work life balance.

Pros

good benefits and pto time

Cons

Micromanagement to the max! They Make rules as they go along to see fit. You get put on warnings for 6 months at a time if you are under for a month on accuracy or productivity. They do not care about their employees at all. Im actively looking for another job because I dont think that i want to stay here they way this company is being run. Leads do not know what they are doing, and if you ask for help its like pulling teeth, like its a bother. QMs only get involved when needed.. They have different "PIPS' for different people. Some people get put on Mentoring programs for 3 months, some people just get put on 6 month warnings. Terrible company ethics.

Pros

Healthcare industry. The conceptional work that Inovalon does is very respected, helping both Health Plans and members to make sure they are being cared for and increasing their overall health.

Cons

This was a small company founded by a Doctor our of his townhouse and it grew to become a publicly held organization. The 'mom and pop' mentality has hampered this company for years and will continue until the founder cashes out and moves on. This company gets in its own way on many occasions. There have been some exceptionally bright employees that have worked there but have moved on based on the terrible leadership. This place will have directors reporting to directors who have no direct reports. If you read other reviews of Inovalon a common theme of low employee moral will ring clear and this is totally not a lie. Inovalon does not care at all about their human capital and will verbal tell people they will get fired if they do not work around the clock. The company does not supply technology to it's client facing staff who go out representing the company as a technology company, but the will give you decades old laptops and do not supply cell phones. Inovlaon wants you to use your personal cell phone to check company email but they do not pay anything towards your cell bill. The CEO many times will act as a spoiled toddler and have personal public outburst with employees to embarrass them in public. The company lies to their clients. Let me repeat, the company lies to their clients. Inovalon has a hard time achieving the ROI that they promise to clients and then refuses to proactively address the situation, using the corporate culture of waiting for the client to 'find' the problem and bring it to Inovalon. This is truly a shady company. The average tenure is 18 months and if you are there longer you start to lose skills. This is not a technology company, at best they are a data aggregation company that sprinkles analytics (which do work) to make it look like they are intelligent. The medical record review process is so broken that these clowns can't even 'chase' a chart properly. They have field reviews for Medicare Advantage and HEDIS fumbling over each other in the field, resulting in provider abrasion. My suggestion to any potential employee, truly read these reviews, think about your personal life experience and then decide. If you just need a paycheck, take the job but make sure you continue to network and shop your resume. You will not be at this company more than 2 years. Lastly, as a means of demonstrating the employee turn over. During my tenure, I personally knew of 185 people that left the organization (in 3 years). This number INCLUDED two General Counsel, CPO, COO, CTO, SVP of Marketing, VP of HR and countless Director level staff. This is a true churn place and the current C-Suite is there for the money (stock after IPO in Feb 2015).
