Pros

Inovalon will hire/promote anyone, no matter how inexperienced you are at the position. The location is not bad if you live in the Wash DC area.

Cons

Management has a "do as I say, not as I do" attitude. This company is plagued with inexperienced VPs, Sr. Directors, and Directors. Too many over paid chiefs, and unfortunately skillful “associates” who are not valued. Bonuses are given to “associates” who are close friends with the ELT (Executive Leadership Team), unless you’re the only “associate” within a department getting an equity increase. Specialty teams are hired to clean house within the company, and when the idea of an investment opportunity dwindles, the team disburses and moves on the next investment. Attempts at being “employer of choice” are not met, because leaders and the champions of change don’t have a clue as to how to accomplish this objective. Management does not communicate with the line staff; associates are placed into roles/positions they have no interest in fulfilling. Expectations are unrealistic, you are expected to work long hours, weekends and there is no work/life balance. This company experiences a lot of Department of Labor compliance problems.

Pros

Great company - Now provides great benefits for all employees (in-house and remote). Great salary - There is no way I could make this kind of money in a hospital setting without working nights and weekends. Trying to improve - Rebranding was not just a change of name, a transition of the company is happening and improvements are being made. Most of the leads are wonderful. Many positions can be home-based.

Cons

There is not much open communication regarding advancement within the company. How is it that you become a lead? Do you have to be recommended? Laptops for remotes - They are dinosaurs. Please upgrade. Soon. Some leads severely lack, not only in knowledge but many need to check their attitude towards reviewers. I know of some who talk down instead of talking to the people on their team.

Pros

The pros are all in the ideas, words, Vision of the company - taking employees out for an alcoholic beverage after an 4(11-hr) days is not proper compensation. Managers (and there are waaaaay to many of them) are more concerned with the illusion of a great work environment than the actual practice of it. I did meet a number of brilliant, interesting, talented people here - but they are grossly displaced. They are in an industry that is booming.

Cons

Improper skills match = hight turnover. Illusion (not the actual practice) of a decent(not even asking for great) work/life balance = high turnover Improper/mismatched compensation = high turnover Lousy benefits for people with family = high turnover Too many chiefs not enough constituents = high turnover Inconsistent/lack of flow of information = high turnover Management with illusions of grandeur = high turnover Favoritsm = keeps less qualified people in play and frustrates good employee out of work = high turnover. If you HAVE TO work here, bite the bullet and do your 6 month stint or whatever you can stomach then be on your way. ... Need I continue?
