Pros

The biggest thing that makes Insmed different is the way they genuinely care about their co-workers and their patients. Patients' perspectives and experiences are commonly discussed in internal meetings - even in meetings with people whose roles do not directly interact with patients. All biopharma companies talk about patient-focus. Insmed walks the walk. It's not just patients either. Employees at Insmed care about each other. I've had many examples of co-workers (even those much more senior than I) being willing to drop what they are doing and offer their help when I have needed it. I would also say that senior management at Insmed is unique. To a person, the executive team members are all down-to-earth and approachable. They actively seek out the perspectives of those who report to them (or even those who are several levels under them) and want to take good ideas and advice no matter from whom it comes. Insmed feels like a family. I would recommend it to anyone who has the chance to work there.

Cons

Insmed is still relatively small and is not yet a profitable company, so resources are certainly not limitless. Given those constraints, management does a good job at funding the right projects and initiatives, but there is always more that could be done if finances were no object.

Management is the worst

Pros

Pay is fairly good health benefits are good.

Cons

Managers don’t know what they are doing. They like to create busywork. They don’t want to hear your opinions based on years of experience but want to learn from making them own mistakes. Micromanaging is rampant. Promotions are based on favoritism not ability. If you want to be promoted leave the company. There is no development within the company, all they want is warm bodies to fill the positions.
