Pros

The culture is likey to be a bit different given what you do and where you work: sales vs. service vs. corporate and corporate HQ vs. Service Centers vs. Field Offices. I'm Service in a Field Office and I really enjoy what I do and where I work. Good life work balance, co-workers who get along well and help each other, very caring direct managers and good leadership from the top. Communication is decent even out to the field. I get the sense that leadership does care about the employees and the communities in which they live.

Cons

Technology and HRIS systems need to be improved. Payroll technology is insufficent and outdated. Supposedly we're getting a new payroll platform, but they've been saying that for years. Despite that we make it work with few errors -- although it seems to be run on rubber bands and paperclips. Pay is average but I'm not complaining given the economy. Advancement is difficult in the field offices but this is normal with any organization. Better explanation of pricing needs to be given to clients.

Pros

Administaff is a great organization and is the clear leader in the PEO industry. Each office though has a different culture, so if you are planning to join the sales organization, go to luch with the people that you would be working with as you will rely on them to help and support your work. Also go visit the operation center that will support you and talk to leadership and front line people - they are good and will help sell you on the business. To be successful, you need to internalize your belief that the service can help business owners (it does) and look for success stories that you can share with others. Its a great business and if you have some knowledge of HR processes and what it takes to run a small business, Administaff may be right for you. Hope this helps. - Ex-ASF EE

Cons

There are certainly some politics that go on between local mgmt and HQ that can be a hinderance. But if you work hard and bring in business, it will not affect you too much. Technology wise, this company also falls behind some of their smaller, more agile competitors. They are a battleship - it takes awhile to alter course.

Pros

Company truly attempts to provide an absolutely great place to work. They honestly do go out of their way to communicate and to share company vital information with their employees. There is a very clear career path (with some "hurdles" that are unpublished)

Cons

Promotions are granted based more on who you know and who you connect with socially rather than on achievement and professional competence. You stand a good chance of being promoted and advancing if you do the cocktail party circuit with the right people as opposed to what you know or achieve. If you're part of the right "clique" your potential is much higher.
