Disaster in one word

Pros

There were a lot of pros when I had joined back in the day, by the time I left it all turned into major cons & red flags.

Cons

I'll try to keep this as professional and useful as possible. When the CEO joined back in 2019, everyone was very hopeful about a woman leading such a bright company. People quickly realized they've jumped into a bowl of hot soup head-first. We saw all the good team leaders either leaving or getting pushed out. ALL of them. They wiped out the full C-suite in less than 6 months with ex-yahoo folks, which in hindsight would have been great - except it wasn't. Most of the folks had no management or people skills. The culture of the teams shifted from motivated hard working to toxic people-pleasing. The CEO clearly had a group of favorites and rest were meant to suck it up or leave. A couple of things really stood out: 1. Lack of communication & transparency in the company from the C-suites 2. Lack of knowledge in upper-level management. Everyone's acting boss & no one actually knows anything. (Hint: Try having a chat with the CMO about what we actually do in-depth) 3. Chaotic management style in every team 4. The sheer mental struggle of worrying if you are going to be on the hit-list next day 5. Unproductive feedback sessions which are just a long list of complaint and regrets from your inexperienced manager 6. Every single person is always overwhelmed. Doing what? 7. The culture is really toxic and nobody should put their mental health through that 8. There's no real career path in the company - you could be doing the same job for years or you could be promoted by fluke because your whole team quit 9. The C-suite is extremely unfriendly - they will not smile and say hello, nor do they really care about an actual conversation with you 10. Most of the good talent is gone and I won't be surprised if the 1% left also leaves by the end of this year. Wow! Made it to 10 points..

We appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review. We value the opportunity to hear from our current and former employees on their experiences with IAS. As our company grows and changes, we inevitably experience some growing pains as we reach for new goals and improve our company culture to be an inclusive space for every member of our team.

Pros

IAS is a brand name at this point. Due to the geo-political climate and brand safety concerns that are introduced by thriving social platforms, IAS is simply in the right space/place at the right time. Compensation seems to be inline with market value.

Cons

IAS has devolved from an enjoyable place to work to a place that harbors toxicity and finger pointing. This all comes from the top down. The level of ineptitude across the majority of the leadership team is so disappointing. The ideology of giving feedback as a gift, essentially means that you must agree and say yes. If you share your own educated and well-versed POV, beware of the consequences. Collaboration used to be fun and a way to learn and exchange ideas, now it is just another naming convention for tit-for-tat. Nobody wants to make the hard decisions and when it comes down to it, I don't blame them because damned if you do and damned if you don't.

Pros

There’s a market need Location: kind of (good neighborhood, close to PATH, far from subway) Iced coffee

Cons

There’s been a mass exodus. Some awful people have left. A lot of great people have left. Working with a group of some of the worst human beings I’ve ever met and it sucks. Not even smart jerks. More like dumb jerks. Leaders here can’t make decisions. Things are forever stalled and everyone below is frustrated. More finger pointing than I’ve ever seen. Zero work life balance. Mediocrity thrives here. It’s a private equity owned company with no innovation. They expand into new markets with the same subpar product. Squeeze out profits. They find the cheapest labor. Trying to sell the company in a few years, but they’re seriously behind. You see the PR push and employee branding videos on LinkedIn? The sudden positive reviews on Glassdoor after a host of terrible ones? The company has a deserved terrible reputation and is desperately putting lipstick on a pig. If this is your best option rn, then you belong here. If you’re worth anything, you’ll find much better.
