Pros

401k match up to 3%. Salary for the most part aligns with industry standards. Onboarding training is adequate. The company uses Teams and Sharepoint for internal file tracking, Teamcenter for 3D models.

Cons

Upper management is not on the same page, so we often get conflicting messages, especially recently surrounding COVID protocols. Half my team left, and there is no plan to replace any of them, so those of us left are struggling to keep up the expected workload. Despite record profits during the pandemic, an employee who is "meeting expectations" still only got a 1% annual raise; not even enough to keep up with inflation. There are several different virtual systems tracking part numbers, orders, workload, and engineering changes, but none of them "talk" to each other, they all have conflicting data, and nobody knows how to use all of them correctly.

Pros

Overall nice facilities at the headquarters

Cons

I was one of the last employees to be hired before they had a hiring freeze in 2013, and as a result there were little to no promotions/raises throughout my time there. It was a pretty dismal place to work due to the emissions lawsuits/issues and lack of job mobility.

Cons

Horrible atmosphere and culture. Upper management do not care about anything other than getting money for themselves. People are robotic, unemotional creatures, not a family oriented culture. No training opportunities. They cant pay for team events or outings (which are at it's best minimal to begin with). What can I say when they make you pay for company sponsored events while they are a multi billion dollar company. They dont care about their employees and take the path of least resistance to encourage and empower employees. Navistar present itself to be so holy and perfect but the employees are suffocating and hate it. Warning - do not apply to Navistar, and if you do, you'll quickly learn and see the darkness behind the veil.
