Pros

1. Decent benefits 2. Paychecks collectors work environment 3. Very nice campus and good, but expensive suburbs (Lisle/Naperville)

Cons

1. Majority of engineering tasks are mainly related to the process of system integration. This type of environment is not recommended for fresh collage grads. If you are fresh out of collage, and you're there, it wasn't good choice from the engineering stand point of view. Some exceptions might apply to software, although being in software group at Navistar is a nonsense too. 2. Poor management - in general, one can observe lack of professionalism on that side (with exception to some individuals) 3. Financial situation of the company is questionable. Every quarter Navistar loses money = lack of stability and layoffs. 4. This is trucking industry - so, the expectations are constrained by low volume little innovation.

Pros

The people are amazing to work with. I can't imagine finding a better group of co-workers anywhere.

Cons

- Above amazing co-workers leave because company isn't doing well. - Company moves you to different roles without any input from you. Doesn't help with employee retention - Only plan for employee retention is holding the annual incentive bonus over your head and making payout the beginning of the second quarter of the following year (which has an AI plan as well) - Not paying out AI, not giving raises

Pros

New management wants to pull company into the 21st century. Communication to employees is much better than past administrations. Working hard to engage employees and communicate goals. Management wants to make fast data and information driven decisions.

Cons

Accurate, accessible, centralized information is what the company lacks - but what management wants and needs for decision making. The capital needed for to modernize processes and the systems to support modern processes is very limited and has been limited for years. Overcoming the last 20 years, or even the last 10 years of neglect continues to be the main challenge.
