Pros

The business park is nice, and the staff are diverse. Have met some great people. You won’t get much support from managers, but you will from the other specialists.

Cons

Would not recommend at all. The work can feel rewarding for the first couple of months and the other Ops Specialists are generally nice and supportive, but the hours, the management, and corporate can feel cruel. Staff will finish 13 hour shifts at 22:30 and be scheduled to come in for 7:30 the next day. Only an hour for lunch. No WFH. No overtime pay offered for bank holidays. Unrealistic KPI’s. Operations Managers have a Teams chat where they share horrible insults about the specialists, swearing about specialists and singling people out by name. Managers will also gossip about specialists to each other on the floor right next to other specialists. Any attempt to raise a complaint or stand up for yourself feels pointless, your contract will be smacked back in your face and you’re told to just deal with it. I’m not surprised to see everyone else have an issue with the office politics, but I am surprised to see it’s across all departments, and not just operations. Pay is low, and I find myself living paycheck to paycheck. Not a lot of opportunities for growth within the company for Operations Specialists, as the company prefer to hire corporate employees externally.

Pros

Smart colleagues, exposure to client business

Cons

Organizational influence and benefits appear concentrated within a limited group, with junior team members handling much of the execution workload.
