Pros

There are some nice lower level people here

Cons

It turns out that everyone is paid differently, and their stock options are different. My colleagues have salaries up to 50% more than mine and much more stock, there is no structure to pay and you are probably being ripped off. Of course, when you point this out to management, they won't fix it. They don't want your ideas, they only want you to do what they tell you to do. They don't care about customers, they care about management who has an uninformed view of quantum computing customers. They will delay purchasing key system components in order to get a bigger discount, and hold a project back from progressing to save incrementally small amounts of money. There is no bias for action, the CEO likes to "think about things" which means that nothing will get done.

Poor Leadership and Lack of HR Support

Pros

Innovative Technology Learning and Development

Cons

During my time at IonQ, I took proactive steps to advocate for myself and address some concerns I had regarding the work environment. Unfortunately, instead of being heard or supported, I was met with unfair treatment and severe consequences. What made the situation even more frustrating was learning later on that my manager had a history of similar behavior at their previous company. IonQ chose to side with my manager rather than conducting a thorough investigation, which could have included input from multiple witnesses. The lack of accountability from both HR and upper management was disheartening. If you are considering working at IonQ, be prepared to deal with poor leadership and a company that fails to support its employees when they need it most.
